In this essay, the authors have attempted to highlight the various shortcomings in the EIA and Public Participation regime in India, particularly focusing upon the Draft EIA Notification, 2020.

Further, the author highlights the importance of the recently enforced BS-VI standard in ensuring sustainability, along with some recommendations on creating a balance between health and economic interests.
